Serving You

I am sitting in a commision workshop for the three days prior to the start of a deer tag. A tag that requires a lottery draw. The only fall tag for the family. A tag that is not guaranteed next season.

Would I rather be in the unit, setting up camp and scouting? Absolutely. But I chose to serve the public for 5 years.

That doesn’t mean I am skipping any of the hunt.

I am sitting here because I am a hunter. I want to stay a hunter. I want Morgan to be able to be a hunter. I want you, your kids, your grand kids, your friends, and even my enemies to have the ability to be hunters.

I want wildlife management, for all wildlife, to be left to the experts and out of the ballot box or court room.

So this is short. Because my public service to you, is more important than whatever rant or story is on my mind today outside my responsibilities as a steward of our public resources.

Serving at the pleasure of the governor of the state of Arizona, I am here, obtaining the best data and information necessary, to make the best decisions for wildlife and the citizens of Arizona that will last longer than you or I will.

Next week, I hope to have some antlers to show you.
